  • “I don’t want me to get scurvy!” (Poppy, upon hearing me talk to her grandma about the lack of fruit in her diet.)
  • “Those are some beautiful underpants.” (Pi, surveying the underpants she had painstakingly arranged on the bed.)
  • “I don’t want my mommy to lay down on my underpants!” (Pi, after I grabbed her and laid down on the “beautiful underpants.”)
