This is the first time in many, many years that I haven’t seen any of the movies nominated for Best Picture. I’ve seen very few of the nominated movies overall, in fact. We did see “The Dark Knight,” “Bolt,” “Wall-E” and “Happy-Go-Lucky.” But I think that’s it. And two of those, I didn’t like one bit.

Well, this year I’m a bit ahead of the game. I’ve seen 4 out of 5. But, if you’re only going to see one of the 5, I’d say go with Slumdog.
Well what do I know? I thought Doubt was my “best picture” of the year and it’s not even nominated although I still have a few to catch up on. And as great as I thought Slumdog Millionaire was (it deserves to be on the list somewhere) I don’t think it’s number one…but I have a hunch it will win as it did for the Globes.
