Chomp it up.

Apparently she has a designer palate

We stopped at the fancy, organic grocery store on the way home this evening specifically to splurge on a package of butternut squash ravioli. They were giving out samples of their Thanksgiving side dishes, and I asked Pi if she’d like to try something. She said yes. She wanted some mashed potatoes.

Now, mashed potatoes used to be something Poppy loved. And then one day, she didn’t. She didn’t even like them anymore. Just as suddenly tonight, she ate two giant scoops of gouda mashed potatoes at the grocery store.

As if that weren’t thrilling enough, she didn’t balk when I put the ravioli on her plate at dinner. She took a bite of a butternut squash ravioli, and then she proceeded to eat every single ravioli on her plate.

I’m still in shock.

November is for noodle talk

Only the 6th of November, and I’m already struggling to come up with something to say. If it weren’t for NaBloPoMo, I wouldn’t be sharing this with you. But in the name of posting every day, I’ll tell you that tonight we discovered that I don’t like soba noodles. Pete, however, loves them.

I’ve been disappointed with our meals this week. I’m not sure if they’ve really been bad or if I just can’t taste anything.

Menu deja vu

Menu Plan Monday logoAfter four days of stomach viruses last week, it looks like we might be getting hit with colds this week. And Pete’s doing some serious, cranky-inducing teething. Oh boy!

Because we were all sick last week, we didn’t eat many of the meals we’d planned. So they’re making their appearances this week. I hope.

Monday: Pizza

Tuesday: Moe’s
It’s my birthday! Moe’s sent me a coupon for a free burrito and it’s free-kids-meal night. Thanks, Moe!

Wednesday: Sesame chicken with soba noodles

Thursday: Chimichangas

Friday: Pizza
It’s Pete’s first birthday! But his party isn’t until Saturday. We’ll probably still let him eat dinner, though.
