“Fatherhood is pretending the present you love most is soap-on-a-rope.”

I love them more than all the stars

The kids and I are crazy about Rockford. I am notoriously bad at Occasions, though, so the poor guy rarely gets an adequate amount of celebration. I still haven’t gotten him a Father’s Day gift or a card, but I did print off a Fathers Day survey for the kids to fill out for Rockford. (Thanks for the link, Jeni!) Their responses:

The title quote is from The Cos, of course.

    On snacks and spooky stories

BlogHer Book Club @ Butterscotchsundae.comI wrote another review for the BlogHer Book Club, and it’s very ramblesome. The book in question: “A Discovery of Witches.” The snack in question: Cheetos. And yes, there’s a connection. Be it ever-so tenuous. Here’s a bit of it (the review, that is. Not the connection):

I found myself missing the really menacing monsters. And so I stopped reading about the supernatural again. No more monsters for me. (Always more Cheetos for me, sadly.)

Then Deborah Harkness starting hanging around my corner of the internet. And rather than pulling my collar up tightly and picking up my pace, I decided I could handle it. Just one book can’t hurt, right?

Click here to read the whole review. Here’s a spoiler: I liked the book a lot.
