These are not the droids you seek

Rockford makes Poppy reenact scenes from “Star Wars” when I’m at work. That she plays along is evidence of her love for her daddy.

My dear husband also declared himself a “breakfast genius” this morning because he combined Perfect Balance and chocolate Malt-O-Meal. I think he needs to get out more often.

O Christmas Tree

We went out to the Christmas tree farm yesterday to find Poppy’s first Christmas tree. With Perry Mason wielding the saw, we braved the chilly weather to wander the pines. After about 20 minutes of scampering through the lot, Audrey found our tree. Perry Mason cut it down, and Dad hauled it back to the truck.

Rockford and Audrey decorated the tree after we got it home and put it up. I think they did a lovely job.

Ouch

Poppy had her first round of shots today. I had a knot in my stomache all day thinking about it. I imagined she’d be scared and maybe even feel a little betrayed. She did cry a little (I nearly did, too, when the first needle went in and the “ouch” registered on her sweet little face), but I scooped her up and hugged her when they finished, and now she’s her normal cheerful self.

I had a flu shot yesterday, and it’s a little sore. I’d imagine she won’t be quite so contented tomorrow. We did give her a little bit of baby Tylenol, though, so maybe that will head off the soreness.

edited at 10:19pm to add … The baby Tylenol is helping, but once it starts to wear off, she very obviously doesn’t feel well.
