Every special occasion deserves a great card

This is a sponsored post.

My extended family is entering a period of Exciting Things. My youngest brother will be graduating from high school in June, and in September we’ll be saying hello to Perry Mason Jr. And I’m celebrating all of this by looking at stationery.

No, seriously.

Events like graduations and new babies should be announced to the world in style, so with a little help from Minted.com I’ve taken it upon myself to find the perfect graduation announcement for Youngest and the perfect baby announcement for Perry Mason Jr.

I love all of Minted’s frilly, girly announcements as well as the braggy ones that give you room to announce your GPA, but neither is really Youngest’s style. So for his graduation announcements, I’m looking for something modern and streamlined. Here’s what I’ve narrowed it down to:

My 3 favorite graduation announcements

(If you’re looking for girly graduation announcements, I really like “Crafts & Florals” and “It’s Official.”)

In addition to making entirely cute baby announcements, Minted will address them for you. For free. That is an awesome service for new parents. We’re still a few weeks away from finding out whether Perry Mason Jr. will be a Percival or a Persephone, so I didn’t discriminate between the frilly and the not. Here are my favorite for the little ones:

I also checked out Minted’s wedding invitations, and some of them made me want to remarry Rockford just so I could send some of them out. Case in point: The Happy Couple would be for my classy-casual outdoor wedding, and Vintage Blush would be for my “Doctor Who”-themed wedding. Either way I’ll be wearing this dress and we’ll have tacos and root beer for dinner cookies and brownies and cute tiny pies for dessert and we’ll dance until dawn and you’re all invited.

Ahem.

Our friends at Minted wanted to give one Butterscotch Sundae reader $50 toward anything at Minted.com (hello, effortlessly awesome birthday party! bonjour, beautiful business cards! salutations, scrumptious stationery!). This giveaway has ended. To enter, just leave a comment on this post — one per person, please! — before 7pm EST on Sunday, April 14, 2013, answering any or all of the following questions:

1. Which graduation announcement do you like best for Youngest?

2. What should Perry Mason & Mrs. Perry Mason name their baby?

3. Where did you go on your honeymoon, and was it fabulous?

  1. I like the classic stipe graduation announcement.
They should name the baby Your Honor.
We went to Sonoma, it was short, but fabulous.
I have a new niece, I’m sure her mom and dad would love to get a set of these baby annoucements.

  2. I like all three of those grad announcements–I’m a big fan of “simple yet elegant.”

We went to Newport, Beach, CA, for our honeymoon and it was lovely. That was 19-crazy-long years ago.

  3. 1. I think I like the first graduation announcement best but if you need to add more info, the second one is pretty cool, too.
    2. I think Perry Mason should name the baby Perry…would be cute for a boy or a girl. 🙂
    3. You know my wedding story…we got married in Jamaica and honeymooned there, too.

  4. I think if it’s a girl they should name her Scarlet because that’s what I really really REALLY wanted to name our baby girl but hubby vetoed it. Booooo.

  5. 1. I like the 1st grad announcement.
    2. Baby…Kaylee Jayne or Ash
    3. We had a two-fold honeymoon. We went to Chicago and lazed around for a few days (we did a few touristy things). Then we went to Cedar Point. It was fabulous.

  6. All of the announcements are beautiful (all of Minted’s products are SO pretty!)

We went to the Bahamas for a week for honeymoon. All-inclusive resort. I planned our wedding and honeymoon on a $5000 budget, and we spent more on the honeymoon than on the wedding. It was well worth it.

  7. I really like the classic stripe for the graduation announcements.

I am **IN LOVE** with the Introduced by Infographic announcement. Even the envelopes/liners are awesome. Its just fun and seems our style.

We honeymooned in Charleston, SC for a long weekend because we we didn’t have a lot of vacation time left. 2 years later we finally made it to Jamaica!

  8. We went to the Texas Hill Country. It was magical because it was Easter weekend, and we had the whole condo complex to ourselves and we just got to be together.

  9. Oh for sure it does. But these days you could make them more personalized with the help of editing and crafts app. I really can’t wait to get my hands on Pic Collage.
