Two dollars and a Casio

“If they told you wolverines would make good house pets, would you believe them?”
We were going to go out for pizza this evening, but it is so cold and rainy that we decided to raid the freezer instead. The kids are having pancakes and veggie sausages, Rockford will probably have a burrito or two and I might have some palak paneer.

In a little while I’m going to peel and cook sweet potatoes while watching “Planes, Trains and Automobiles,” because it is The Finest Thanksgiving Film. “Pieces of April” is also good but is neither available on Netflix nor as an Amazon Prime selection. I think we have a copy, but I don’t have a TV in the kitchen so the sweet potatoes and I can’t watch it. “Grumpy Old Men,” however, is available on Amazon Prime. I might watch it tomorrow with the spinach.

Allons-y, patate douces!

A Thanksgiving week menu plan

Monday: ????
I’m positive I had a plan for today, but I can’t remember what it was. So I’m not sure what we’ll be having this evening!

Tuesday: Pizza
I’m doing a lot of cooking this week, so I’m outsourcing this one.

Wednesday: Chili
I’ll start this in the Crockpot in the morning so our Thanksgiving visitors will have something to eat when they arrive.

Thursday: Thanksgiving dinner
Turkey! Stuffing! Sweet potato casserole! Mashed potatoes! Gravy! All the foods!

Friday: Leftovers
I thought about doing a turkey pot pie or turkey soup or something, but who am I kidding? I’m not going to repurpose anything. It’ll be a fend-for-yourself leftovers buffet.
