Things I have enjoyed lately

  • Thinking about NaNoWriMo.
  • The pretty, pretty leaves.
  • Poppy, upon being handed a juice box: “Oh! It’s just like meal-in-a-cup!”
  • Thinking about Thanksgiving.
  • Dressing the kids up in their Halloween costumes. (Little Red Riding Hood! The Big Bad Wolf! Cuteness!)
  • Pouring red beans & rice into gallon-size bags with Rockford. (Simple pleasures. I know. Maybe you had to be there.)
  • Re-reading “The Book Thief” to see if it was as good as I’d originally thought. It was. I cried again.
  • “The Aztec Legal Consultant’s Unctuous Heiress”? Has merit.

I’m pretty sure I’m going to try NaNoWriMo again this year. I’ve been working on coming up with a plot. Which you could* read to mean I’ve been googling things like “mystery plots” and “Romance novel generator.” While I probably won’t** be writing “The Indian NASCAR Driver’s Bemused Captive” any time soon, I did find the classic 12-chapter mystery plot outline pretty intriguing. Now I just need a captivating detective, a villainous villain and some criminal misdeeds.

Whatever I end up with, I’m 97% certain that Hall and Oates will play a major role.

    p.s. A laugh at Dan Brown’s expense.

*Because that would be entirely accurate.
    **Or will I?!? Stay tuned.
