Grace in Small Things: 1 of 365

I know things have gotten a little down and dumpy around these parts lately. For a time, I was keeping sort of a gratitude journal — writing down things that made me smile throughout each day, and sharing some of them here. It helped me focus on the good stuff, and I need to get back to it. So I’m following the Whoorl’s lead and hopping on the Grace in Small Things Challenge bandwagon.

  1. Playing Settlers of Catan with my family. (And winning! For the first time ever! And the second time ever!)
  2. “That’s what she said” jokes. Thanks to Michael Scott, they never fail to make me laugh.
  3. Coconut cream pie.
  4. Pete reaching for something he knew he wasn’t supposed to grab, then turning around and saying, “No no!” He’s a little stinker, I know. But it was terribly cute.
  5. The look of complete and utter concentration on Rockford’s face when he plays “Rock Band.” When he plays well, it’s followed by a look of glee. It’s one of the best things about the game.
