Friday links! Parenting and archaeology

  • I haven’t given as much in-depth thought to parenting styles as Molly has. But ater reading Gentle Parenting: A Tale of Three Markers, I could definitely tell you in which direction I tend to falter. I try to maintain my patience, though, and I think I might need to tattoo this entire post on my forearm for the days when it’s tough. That would be a whole lot of ink. Maybe I’ll just keep it bookmarked. (Thanks for the link, Jeni.)
  • The first thing that impressed me about this story is that there’s such a thing as underwater archaeology. The second? Someone found what looks to be a Stonehenge Beneath the Waters of Lake Michigan. Dude. That’s crazy. (via kottke.org.)
  • A guest poster at Simple Mom has some solid tips for going away with the little people at Have a Little One? You Don’t Have To Give Up Weekends Away. I particularly like the idea of having your welcome-home dinner already made and ready to heat.
  • Bonus Feature! Friday Shuffle!

    1. And if you’d ‘a took to me like
A gull takes to the wind.
Well, i’d ‘a jumped from my tree
And i’d a danced like the kind of the eyesores
And the rest of our lives would ‘a fared well.
