A post-surgery menu plan

Rockford is saying goodbye to his gallbladder early tomorrow morning. He’s a little bit concerned that it’ll forever affect his ability to eat fatty and fried foods, so he spent the weekend eating cheeseburgers, pizza and fried chicken just in case. We’ve stocked up on brothy soups for him, but I’ve also planned a rather bland menu for the week just in case he’s up for something more than soup.

Monday: ??
We have a good deal of running around to do this evening, so I’m guessing we’ll be eating out.

Tuesday: Lucky Charms?
I’m not sure whether or not Rockford will want to eat anything, and I’m happy eating cereal for dinner. The kids might demand more, though. We’ll see.

Wednesday: Baked chicken and rice
I bought Shake and Bake.

Thursday: Breakfast for dinner
Hopefully egg white omelets are an acceptable thing for someone without a gallbladder, because that’s what we’re having.

Friday: Poppyseed chicken casserole
It’s innocuous and delicious!

I’m linking this up with OrgJunkie.com’s weekly Menu Plan Monday thing.

  1. I had mine out a few years ago and I didn’t want to really eat anything for the first week. I had been so sick I was just glad it didn’t hurt anymore. I still can’t eat cheese unless it is cooked, peanut butter or garlic and onion. Otherwise good though! Good luck!
