Free stuff
Sometimes I accept free items from marketers or companies. Those items are usually used as contest prizes, but if I ever keep them and discuss them at Butterscotch Sundae, I’ll tell you who sent it to me.
Product reviews
I don’t do many compensated reviews, but when and if I do one, I’ll make that clear. Any other product review I do will disclose whether the item in question was received for free and from whom. If I don’t mention anything that the product was received for free, it means I paid for it.
Affiliate marketing
I have affiliate accounts with Amazon.com, Bluehost.com and Netflix.com. That means that if you click a link here and it takes you to one of those sites and then you buy something, I’ll receive a percentage commission from anything you purchase. Per the new FTC rules, any link through which I stand to make money will now be clearly marked as an affiliate link via hover text.
Example:
This is a non-affiliate link to Amazon.
This is an affiliate link to Amazon.com.
(Holding your mouse over each link will show you the difference.)
From December 1, 2009, and forward, all affiliate links which appear on this site will have the hover text disclosing them as such.
Advertisements
We’re part of the BlogHer Ad Network, which means there are ads here.
I used the disclosure page at WantNot.net as a guide for writing this. Thanks, Mir!
