Dinner diversion

It was bound to happen, and frankly I’m a little surprised that it didn’t happen sooner. I phoned in last week’s 52Frames picture. Literally. And figuratively.

The theme was “Rule of Odds,” which says an odd number of subjects are more pleasing to the eye than an even number. I had a very difficult time thinking of something to photograph, and to be honest I didn’t really put much effort into thinking about it. Then we went out for pizza, and they gave the kids little packs of crayons with their menus. Little packs that contained precisely three crayons. So I rolled ’em over toward me snapped a picture with my phone and called it a week.

“Dinner diversion”

I forgot to submit it to the 52Frames site, so I guess their official records will show that I’ve missed a week. If they have official records. But I know I took the picture, and you know I took the picture, so all is well.

Take it on down to Omeleteville

Instead of writing a couple of blog posts last night — behind-the-blog secrets revealed! I write most of my posts in advance! — I watched the “Saturday Night Live” 40th anniversary special. I laughed ’til I cried several times. I regret nothing.

Monday: Sandwiches
We were planning to go out for sandwiches, but the weather is supposed to get nasty later today so we might have switch things around a bit. Or have PB&Js.
Tuesday: Breakfast for dinner
Ain’t no dinner like a breakfast-for-dinner ’cause a breakfast-for-dinner has omeletes.
Wednesday: Five-spice tuna
This is the second attempt at Eating Fish for Health. Last week’s grouper wasn’t a hit.
Thursday: Tortellini
At Poppy’s request.
Friday: Pizza

Bedtime is nigh

“What’s Poppy playing out there?” asks Pete, who has just finished his post-shower drip-all-over-the-floor-whilst-yelling-for-me-to-get-the-towel-that-is-right-next-to-him routine and is now getting dressed.

“I don’t know.”

“Go out there and see!”

“Just put your pants on and go see for yourself,” I say.

“Do I have to do everything around here?!?!”
